This engine was made by Merlin (Wales) from leftover Beck (Germany) parts in the late 1980s or early 1990s. It has two double-acting cylinders controlled by piston valves. Reversing is via dummy Walschaerts valve gear. The throttle is on the steam dome. The loco is radio controlled (speed and direction). There is a pressure gauge and a water glass. The engine has a single flue, gas-fired boiler. The gas tank sits atop the boiler in the cab, with the filler in the roof. The loco has seen little use and is in excellent running condition.
