| Mel Ridley's Mich-Cal 0-4-0

| This is a standard Mamod 0-4-0 completely reworked by Mel Ridley to resemble a Mich-Cal engine. It has new drivers; dummy fixed cylinders behind which the original oscillators function; standard Mamod reversing; completely new silver-soldered copper boiler with a pressure gauge and proper throttle, new safety valve, a Goodall-type filler, and an unknown fixture immediately behind the stack. There is a large displacement lubricator with drain in the cab. The engine is now alcohol fired. The saddle tank is removable for boiler access. Lots of added detail. The headlight is (I believe) from an Aster Reno. The works plate on the front of the smokebox as also Aster. Weight has also been added to the engine. | |||||||||||
