Sidestreet Bannerworks’ 25th Annual Small Scale Steamup was held Sunday, October 2, 2005, at Marc and Barb Horovitz’s Ogden Botanical Railway in Denver Colorado. It was held on relatively short notice due to an extremely busy summer. Nevertheless, around 50 people attended and there were lots of interesting locomotives. The track behaved well, as did most of the engines (and attendees!) and the weather was exceptional for this time of year -- temperature in the mid 80s under a brilliant, blue sky.

The event began around 10 in the morning, with people coming and going throughout the day. Gauge-1 and gauge-0 locomotives were run, and there was a 2-1/2"-gauge Dyak on display. The most unusual piece of steam equipment was a tossup between Jim Hadden's well-known ditcher and Kevin Strong's not-so-well-known tea kettle.
