The 1st and 2nd Annual Spring Windups were such great fun that we're going to have yet another. What follows is some pertinent information.
What we'll be doing
* Running spring-powered trains outdoors
* Looking at the trains that everyone else brought
* Having casual discussions with other attendees about clockwork matters
* Buying and selling from a swap table (so bring some stuff to sell)
* Having show and tell
* Having lunch (included with your registration)
* Door prizes (if we can find some)
New this year
There will be some informal competitions, officiated by Chuck Donovan. These will include. . .
* The Tortoise and the Windup
* The Power of the Pulling Spring
* An event for Turtles
* The Clockwork Attack
What to bring
* Yourself
* Clockwork locomotives of any gauge, scale, age, and condition (including commercial, scratchbuilt, kitbashed, modified, antique, new, repainted, etc.) and any rolling stock you'd like to run with them
* Show & tell, including unfinished projects, books, mechanisms, parts, resources, old photos, etc.
* Related stuff to sell, if you have any
* Anything else you can think of that you think we'd like to see
What to expect
Weather permitting, there will be a large, dual-gauge garden railway (0 and 1) at your disposal. For those running trains with tinplate wheels that might not like our pointwork, we're planning on having at least one, and possibly more, additional 0-gauge loops to run on. And for those with HO- or 00-gauge clockwork trains, we'll have a small loop of that track as well. If you have clockwork trains of a different gauge, perhaps you could bring some track on which to run them. If not, please feel free to bring the trains anyway.

Weather
The weather in Denver at this time of year is unpredictable any further away from the event than about an hour. We will hold the event regardless of the weather. If conditions are just too bad outside for running, we can all sit around indoors and do everything we would have done outside, only less so. Even if it is outdoors we suggest bringing a coat, hat, and sunglasses.
